Best VR games
Virtual Reality, known as VR (Virtual Reality), is a technology that uses goggles to simulate a realistic 3D environment. In addition to the popular 'glasses', a VR headset can include additional components that are used to manipulate objects while playing and recognize the user's movements. All of this offers us a highly interactive experience unparalleled in entertainment on traditional devices.
The library of virtual reality games is vast and growing, making the search for worthwhile creations a significant challenge. In selecting the best VR games for our ranking, we've focused on their immersive ness and exceptional playability, so each game on display offers hours of gaming fun.
It's important to note: we're certainly aware of the existence of fan-made VR mods, developed by the talented community of games such as GTA V, Alien Isolation, and Elden Ring. The amount of work that went into creating these modifications is admirable, but due to possible bugs or compatibility issues, we have not included them in our list.
So only VR games with official developer support are included in the following list. For some of the products we mentioned, VR is the only form of gaming available, while for others it serves as an alternative to playing on a TV or monitor. It's worth noting that the order of the names in the list is random. Without further ado, take a look at our rankings!
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners

The first offering belongs to developers from Skydance Interactive - VR goggles games are the studio's specialty. As the name implies, the action in question takes place in the world of the "dead", known from the popular television series The Walking Dead.
It's unlikely that anyone will be surprised by the main idea of gameplay - we'll encounter hordes of undead as we explore. In addition to hand-to-hand combat or the use of firearms, we can also operate stealthily, avoiding direct confrontation. Moreover, in The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners we will also find elements known from the best survival films. Throughout the adventure, we'll have to collect healing resources, food, and raw materials, and take care of our character's health and fatigue.
The VR implementation in the game in question is very impressive. Players can reload each round of a revolver's barrel, draw the bowstring, or make interesting items using their own body movements. We can freely observe the game world and each of our actions by changing the position of our heads, which undoubtedly deepens the gaming experience.
Half-Life: Alyx
Half-Life: Alyx is a game designed from the ground up with virtual reality in mind. American Studio Valve has been working hard for four years on this game, and the result is impressive visual effects and carefully crafted levels.
The game's protagonist is Alyx Vance, also known from the previous Half-Life games. The story takes us to City 17, which has been overrun by a sinister space empire called Combine. Our intrepid heroine is humanity's only hope for survival as players search for a super weapon hidden in the occupier's base.
Talented Valve has taken full advantage of VR. The game world is filled with interactive objects that we can toss around to distract enemies, for example. What's more, the gravity weapons known from previous installments of the Half-Life series have also made their way into Alix's inventory, this time in the form of gloves. These can be used to attract distant objects or weapons, as well as to solve some puzzles.
Marvel's Iron Man VR
Marvel's Iron Man VR is the work of Camouflaj Studios, published in partnership with Sony. As it's easy to guess, in this game players take on the role of Tony Stark, the eccentric billionaire and inventor of the iconic armour.
The game's narrative centres around the clash between the titular Iron Man and a cyber-terrorist nicknamed the Phantom. The mysterious antagonist has decided to attack Tony as revenge for the loss and suffering caused by Stark's previous activities. During our adventure, we'll also meet other characters known from the Marvel universe, which is sure to be a pleasant surprise.
As with the other cool VR games on our list, this one stands out for its extraordinary immersive virtual reality goggle experience. Aside from Iron Man's distinctive movement style and the usual smash-and-grab, interacting with F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s artificial intelligence is an important element of the gameplay.
The combat AI, also known from the popular Marvel films, allows us to scan the environment, repair armour damage or mark enemies - all using hand gestures. What's more, it gives us a brief introduction to a mission or suggests an effective strategy during combat. This game has everything you need to feel like Tony Stark, if only for a moment.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is the next installment in Capcom's acclaimed survival horror series. Unlike previous installments, RE7 focuses on creating a horror atmosphere rather than pure action, although of course there is plenty of that in the game as well. The game plays as Ethan Winters, who, through his misfortune, is stranded on a certain abandoned farm.
The protagonist goes to the site to find his wife, who has been missing for years. Unfortunately, the loner's rescue doesn't quite go according to plan, and our protagonist finds himself in the demonic Baker family. It's up to us alone to see if Ethan manages to escape this hell on Earth. It's worth noting that fans of Sam Raimi's Dead Evil atmosphere will feel right at home in RE7.
As the game progresses, we'll have to sneak around, explore our surroundings, run away, but also, of course, smash our enemies with the wide arsenal of available weapons. Undoubtedly, however, most of the time we will be accompanied by anxiety, sometimes very justified. When it comes to scary VR games on PS4 and PS5, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard definitely takes the top spot.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR is a unique version of one of the best RPGs of all time. Bethesda's legendary masterpiece offers a free exploration of the vast open world - this time in virtual reality.
In terms of content, Skyrim in VR is an exact adaptation of the original. Here we will find all the main and side quests, as well as the additions known from the base edition. We can choose from 10 races with different stats and special abilities. Having created the hero of our dreams, we set off on an adventure that (as usual in The Elder Scrolls) begins with serving prison time.
In the course of the game, we'll be involved in a conflict between two parties fighting for control of the titular region of Tamriel. In addition, we will have to face the threat of the ancient dragon Alduin, the harbinger of the coming apocalypse.
This game's VR gameplay combines all the good stuff of the original Skyrim with virtual reality technology. Character development, exploration and combat remain pretty much the same. The difference lies in how our hero is controlled - in the modern goggles version, players can shoot a bow, block with a shield and even cast spells using their own body movements. In addition, the developers have also improved the sound by adding a surround sound feature.
